Bali
Vibrant culture, lush landscapes, and serene beaches in this Indonesian paradise
Destination Overview
Bali is a province of Indonesia and the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands. East of Java and west of Lombok, the province includes the island of Bali and a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan.
Bali is known for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, music, and painting, and its sculpture, both monumental and small. The art of Balinese painting is known as 'celi'.
When to Visit
The best time to visit Bali is during the dry season from April to October when temperatures hover between 24-32°C (75-90°F) with low humidity and minimal rainfall. The rainy season (November to March) brings humidity, occasional showers, and fewer tourists, with hurricane season peaking from August to October.
Getting There
Most visitors fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, the capital city. From there, domestic flights and ferries connect to other islands. Air Bali offers domestic flights to Ubud, while ferries operate between Bali and Lombok.

Cultural Etiquette: Respect local customs and traditions, including dress codes for temples and religious sites. Always remove your shoes before entering a house of worship.
Weather Preparedness: While Bali enjoys a tropical climate, it can experience heavy rainfall during the rainy season (November to March), which can affect outdoor activities and travel plans.
